YEAH, WE'RE GOING TO DO SECRET SANTA THIS YEAR!

Here's how it's gonna go: If you want to get a Steam game or games equaling about $10 and you can buy* a Steam game or games equaling about $10 for the 24th of December, PUT YOUR NAME IN THIS THREAD.

Then sometime later this week when everyone has put there names here, I'll contact you and let you know the (random) person you'll be buying a gift for. Then you'll gift them your about $10 worth of games on the 24th of December, hence the "Semi" secretness of the whole situation.

* Be responsible here folks. If you can't buy someone $10 worth of games, don't put your name down.

Minecraft Server Updated To 1.8!

Our Minecraft server has been updated to 1.8, and a new world has been generated. The old world file will soon be published for those who wish to relive the glory days of the WORLD OF 2011. Happy mining!

The FUN-POCOLYPSE

As a few of you may have noticed, the website was down for almost a week. The downtime was caused by a catastrophic disc failure that occurred in the data center my host owns.

The two main RAID drives that our website was stored on were completely destroyed, but a mysterious third drive was recovered that had recent data to fall back onto. Because of that, you'll notice that even though the site died only last week, the last posts made were on August 8th. My host has told me they are investing in a whole new set of hardware, including raid redundancy, and a thorough review of their backup and redundancy plans have been undertaken.

Long story short, I'm sorry about the outage and I'll make up for it in the form of upcoming contests and events. So look forward to that! For those of you who didn't visit the site while it was dead, here's the relatively informative emails I received during the downtime.

Minecraft Server Back Up!

The Minecraft server is back up at frothy.binaryden.net

The server is now equipped with two new drives in a RAID 1 configuration and a new PSU helping it all chug along smoothly. The RAID 1 config will make sure the Minecraft server will be unharmed in the event of hard drive failure or corruption, which we will hopefully be safe from for some time. Put the server to good use and have fun!

Minecraft Server Downtime

At about 3:00 AM EST today the Minecraft server suffered a hard-disc failure, so (unless Digitalfox feels like hosting for a bit) the server will be down till early next week when I get a new HD. Luckily, Digi has the map backed up, so nothing before 4:00 PM EST yesterday should be lost.
